We are platform and technology agnostic so are looking for somebody who is curious, motivated, open and self-aware. You will be expected to learn new skills and code in other languages we may use. You will get to build REST APIs, use of .net(C#,.net core,.net framework),Ruby on Rails and Angular as we develop apps. We expect you to undertake Test Driven Development, to pair programme and review peer review commits on GitHub.

We also use containerisation mechanism for building our apps using Docker, logging mechanism using Sentry,Papertrail and NewRelic.We have also embraced infrastructure as code via Terraform to spin up our services on cloud. Hackney will shortly be looking for someone to lead our information governance and records management teams. These are key parts of our transformation ambitions, building on our commitment to transparency, trustworthy handling of personal information and effective management of our records to support the delivery of excellent services to Hackney’s residents and businesses.

As our Corporate Information & Knowledge Manager (and statutory Data Protection Officer) you will have a strong understanding of the principles of record management, the opportunities and challenges presented by GDPR and information governance. You will enjoy working in a friendly, collaborative and supportive team environment, using your experience to lead a user-centric service which advises colleagues on how to protect the privacy of our residents, supports the sharing of knowledge effectively across the organisation and enables us to use our information as an asset.

You will work closely with the Council’s SIRO (the Group Director, Finance & Corporate Resources) and Deputy SIRO (the Director ICT), providing expert advice to strategic leaders and other colleagues across the Council.

As the Delivery Manager working with our Service Support team you will be key to delivering our high priority projects that will help us improve how we support users get the most out of the tools we use across the organisation. Using Agile methods to deliver great user experiences at pace through effective multidisciplinary teams, including ‘failing fast’ where that is the right thing to do.

You will have experience of delivering projects, effective collaborative leadership skills and a track record of inspiring teams to deliver successful results through working effectively with other teams and partners. You will be experienced in working in complex business environments and able to focus on delivery while also adapting to fast paced change.
